Fire Spread
A forest fire that broke out late last night in Aliefendi Neighborhood, Alanya, quickly spread due to strong winds. The flames reached the nearby İspatlı and Kargıcak neighborhoods, putting residential areas at risk.
Alanya District Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk stated:
“The fire is affecting three neighborhoods. We evacuated nearly 100 homes. Our teams have been fighting the fire since last night.”
Response & Status
- Local gendarmerie (Mahmutlar Gendarmerie Station) responded after receiving a tip and caught the suspect in the act.
- Tools believed to have been used to start the fire (a fire‐starting device and a lighter) were confiscated.
- The fires were brought under control before they could spread further.
Emergency Response - Firefighting operations are ongoing both from the air and on the ground.
- Resources deployed include 2 planes, 8 helicopters, 30 fire trucks, 1 construction machine, and 190 personnel.

Aliefendi Neighborhood Headman Rüştü Vural explained:
“We immediately evacuated the houses, and teams responded quickly. However, strong winds are making it difficult to contain the fire.”
